Single-storey Rear Extension, Trentham

Here we had a brief to use local brick to provide a single-storey extension with a contemporary feel that reflects the Art Deco style of the existing detached house.

The extension runs the full width of the house and opens up the back to create a large open-plan kitchen-diner. Some further internal remodelling also adds an additional bedroom and shower room downstairs.

The proposal uses staffordshire brick, contrasting with the render of the existing house, large crittal style glazing to the rear, and rooflights will illuminate the space and add character. The client plans to change the windows of the house to match the new crittal glazing also.
